The Ultimate Gift Guide For Francophiles 2020

The gift-giving season is in full swing and buying online is the way to go. Let’s take a look at this gift guide for Francophiles

I spend my whole year looking for cool things that we Francophiles would love. This year especially since we have been banned from taking any real trips to France, it’s more important than ever to bring a little bit of France to yourself or someone you know who adores France.

This post is going to be chocked full of things that I have on my wish list and favorites of mine that I have treated to myself throughout the year. Because after all, anytime is the right time to enjoy a bit of France.

This first choice is one of my faves, if not my favorite from this past year.

I just recently treated myself to macarons from the Macaron Queen. You know how much I love these colorful confections based on the fact that I am willing to drive all around Wisconsin in search of them.

If you are a fan of the CNBC series The Profit with my favorite business guru Marcus Lemonis ( who also happened to buy 1440 copies of my first children’s book now available in Camping World), then you might remember that Macaron Queen was featured in season seven.

Ordering from the Macaron Queen website was easy peasy and in a few days, I had a box of ten beautifully packaged with a cold pack, that I enjoyed during the next few days. These were some of the best macs I’ve had. One thing that blew me away was the amount of tasty filling in between the two meringue cookies. There are themed boxes to choose from. I chose the French Mix…well because French Mix.

Let’s Find Some Fun Things On Etsy Next

Etsy may be the biggest showcase for small business owners, particularly women, out on the web. When I want a handcrafted or unique item Etsy is my go-to spot. Etsy has more of an artesian and crafty feel which is why it’s fun to browse through the different shops. This year especially, Etsy has taken off since more people are looking for unique gifts online versus going out to a local market, or their local specialty shop.

Etsy is a treasure trove of items in my gift guide for Francophiles. Here is just a sampling of things I’ve purchased or put on my wish list. Hint Hint….

Local Small Brick and Mortar Business with an Online Presence

I have some wonderful shops close by that have an online presence. What Francophile doesn’t love scarves and wear them practically year-round? There is a local boutique located not far from me that has a great selection of scarves along with other clothing and accessories. Allechant Boutique is in Plymouth Wisconsin.

You cannot overlook Amazon for your gift guide for Francophiles

I usually stock up on French soap when I go to TJ Maxx. I love Pre De Provence bars, but when I can’t get there or they don’t have them, I can find them on Amazon.

I switched from using liquid soap in the shower when I brought home a whole suitcase full of soap bars from my trip to Paris. It seems French soap is creamy and never leaves an ikky feeling on my skin after the shower. Once in a while I run out and have to use liquid or whatever Rick has, but I always go back to my French bar soap. It lasts a long time.

Pre de Provence soap bars are like heaven.

I’ve mentioned Saint James before here on the blog. The striped Breton shirt is a must-have classic for every Francophile. Chances are, she wears hers out from wearing so much. Why not stock her up?

An always welcomed gift for the Francophile. The Saint James Meridame II

Then there is my favorite type of gift…the book. Gifting books to Francophiles is easy. Not only is there an abundance of books about Paris and France, it’s nearly impossible to keep up with them all. The only issue is, is that how do you find out which ones she has already?

Here’s a list of books that are relatively new.

I hope that I have given you some valuable suggestions in this gift guide for Francophiles. I myself would personally love anyone of these gifts. There is a wide range of price points, so there is something for every budget. As any proper Francophile knows it’s not about the cost, its about the style and the thought that goes behind it.

If you are a dedicated Francophile do you have a favorite gift idea? I’d love to hear them in the comments below.

Thank you for reading! As always if you like this post please pass it along.
