Missing Paris? You Need Go To Patisserie Coralie In Evanston, Illinois

Missing Paris? Do you long for an authentic Parisian experience? Check out Patisserie Coralie in Evanston, Illinois

I’m currently on a little getaway to the north “burbs” of Chicago. While I visit Chicago several times throughout the year, I have yet to venture outside the city.

In the next couple of days I’m about to change that.

As you know, I LIVE to find things to do that make me feel like I’m back in Paris. Whether that’s searching for the best places for macarons in Wisconsin, to French restaurants, or even just finding things that remind me of Paris.

So when I recently got together with a new friend and she told me about Patisserie Coralie in Evanston, Illinois, I had to make a point of checking it out on my next trip south.

So here I am! Enjoying a fabulous quiche, salad, chips, and a water. This is the daily lunch special and for $11.95 you can get half a sandwich or mini quiche, soup or salad, and a cold beverage.

In typical coffee shop fashion, you order at the counter and pick up your order when ready.

When you walk into this cute corner French cafe, you immediately feel like you’ve stepped into a cafe in a Paris. The inside is small but adorable with an intimate vibe. I absolutely love the chandeliers!

I was by myself, but felt right at home as I took my seat at a tiny round table by the front window.

Clearly this is a popular place as it’s past the lunch time crowd and yet it’s a constant stream of people coming in to order a pastry, coffee or anything else.

I’m sitting here right now eyeing up the true reason why I’m here and that’s to sample some of my favorite little beauties, la macaron! Although quite frankly it was hard to pass up every delectable delight in the case!

After I had my delicious summer squash quiche, I ordered a box of 6 macarons to sample with an extra (bamboo plum) to taste while I sit here writing this post. I ordered 2 French lavender, one hibiscus cassis, one champagne, one coconut milk chocolate, and one Coralie Coffee.

The bamboo plum was a great first taste. A fabulous crunchy shell and melt in your mouth softness inside.
