What better way to fuel your day sightseeing in Charleston than a great breakfast. There are many great breakfast restaurants in Charleston SC. If you grab a late breakfast, you can pretty much get through your whole day without stopping to eat lunch. Just a snack should tie you over until dinner.
So lets take a look at some of the best breakfast restaurants in Charleston, SC.
Toast
Toast has one location in downtown Charleston. There is also one location in Summerville and one in West Ashley. There is a reason for the multiple locations. Toast is a perfect spot for breakfast. Known for it’s down home southern cooking and homemade grits, Toast has lots to offer the hungry rise and shine eater. We had a great brunch at Toast twice on my last trip to Charleston. One reason was because it was right next door to our hotel. The central location in the historic district makes for a busy place. Most times, there is a wait.

Hominy Grill
Ask anyone what a popular must try breakfast place in Charleston is and they will tell you Hominy Grill. Another down home southern cooking place, Hominy Grill is in a small single house and does not take reservations. So, like many places in Charleston, there may be a line to get in. Believe me, it’s worth the wait.

Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit
If you have a serious craving for a biscuit (and why not? you are in Charleston after all!), Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit is THE place to go. A grab and go biscuit place, you can choose from a menu of 7 different biscuit flavors with the option of adding fillings. Or you can go with a choice of one of three biscuit sandwiches. Yum yum!

Sausage, Egg, and Pimento Cheese Biscuit Sandwich. $7.95
located at 476 1/2 King Street and at City Market

WildFlour Pastry
WildFlour Pastry isn’t exactly a restaurant, but is an excellent quaint bakery that has some seating and offers sweet and savory baked goods. They do offer a selection of quiche also, which is my recommendation. The quiche selection varies. Lauren is famous for her ‘Sticky Bun Sunday’ when those famous sticky buns quickly sell out. Offering scones, turnovers, and a selection of cookies and sweet treats, WildFlour is a great place to pick up a delicious breakfast.
located at 73 Spring Street and 1750 Savannah Hwy,

Breizh Pan Crepes
You know I cannot have a list of restaurants and not include a French option! Here it is! I absolutely adore crepes and Breizh Pan Crepes is THE place to have them in Charleston. I have had crepes in many destinations. Nothing can beat the choices you have here. Sweet or savory, breakfast or lunch, if you love the French Crepe, make this a must stop when you visit Charleston. There is a reason that it’s the number one breakfast pick in Charleston according to Trip Advisor.
