All Saints Church Of Elkhart Lake In The Snow

Winter Destination -The All Saints Chapel Of Elkhart Lake Wisconsin

All Saints Chapel of Elkhart Lake was my first photo-op of the morning.  Wisconsin became covered in a blanket of white on Wednesday and I knew just where I was headed to take some pictures this morning.  Almost everyday the whole month of December as I delivered parcels for the USPS I drove past this cute little chapel.  Every time I did I vowed to come back when I had my camera and some time to take pictures.

This morning was the perfect opportunity.

Built in 1951, this chapel has services every Sunday  from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  With just 24 seats, this tiny Chapel is the perfect backdrop for a Summer wedding.  You can read more about the history of this beautiful little Episcopalian Chapel here.

I love having little gems just a few miles away.  It just goes to show you than there really is no need to travel thousands of miles away to discover new places.  This year is going to be the year that I take full advantage of all Wisconsin has to offer. I almost wanted to brush the snow off the bench and sit down and be still for a few minutes.  There was no one around as seen from my fresh tire tracks in the driveway. What a joy to be surrounded with such beauty!

Is there anyplace near you that you need to take the time to discover?  Please share in the comments below.

You’re right. There is so much in our own backyards.

Yes! I plan on spending a lot of time discovering places in my home state in 2017 and bringing those discoveries to my readers. We don’t have to travel half way across the world to explore.

What a sweet church! Lovely pictures! Husby has worked for years in the Culture branch of the Alberta government, so the nearby sites we are very familiar with. But a bit further out? Not so much. You’ve given me incentive to explore!

That is my mission for this year. I want to explore more of my home state and share with everyone. Wisconsin is such a beautiful state with so much to offer! Sometimes we overlook what is right out our backdoor. I’m so happy I inspired you!
