Finding French Macarons In Wisconsin At Le Reve Patisserie And Cafe

Looking to satisfy my appetite for all things French, I began my quest to find the best French macarons in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago with a stop in Wauwatosa at a couple of places- Le Reve Patisserie and Cafe and Rocket Baby Bakery. These small, colorful, and fancy cookies made from almond flour, powdered sugar, and egg whites, with a host of fillings are a must have on any visit to Paris.  Famous shops such as Laduree and Pierre Herme make whole window displays out of these cookies that are so pretty, you cannot help but wander inside…

Things To Do In Paris – A Wine Tasting At O Chateau

Wine tasting in Paris? Yes please! There is an overwhelming amount of things to do and see in Paris.  A first trip often includes all the main things- the Eiffel tower, Louvre, Musee Orsay, Notre Dame, a Seine River Cruise, and a whole host of other “must sees.” I’ll be the first to admit that you can go absolutely crazy trying to see and do it all.  And really those that have been to Paris multiple times will tell you to slow down and just wander, get off the beaten path and just savior it.  It…

Going To Paris? Rent An Apartment With Paris For Rent

Are you planning a Paris Vacation? Sure you could book a hotel in Paris, but why not feel like a local and book a Paris apartment rental? I did just that on my last trip to Paris. Deciding which agency to book with was not easy, but after looking at various rentals through a number of agencies, I went with Paris For Rent.  I am a die hard Rick Steves fan and because his Paris guidebook recommends Paris for Rent, I was sold.  After all who can you trust for great travel info than the master himself? Why Paris…

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Spring!!!

Welcome Spring!! (It’s about time you show up!!) It was a perfect day for delivering mail today.  After the gray, cool temps, and on and off rain of the last few days, it was a welcomed change to see the sun shining today.  It made driving the mail route pleasant.  Another thing I noticed was the color green beginning to add a bit of color to the brown and dull landscape.  Yes, the grass is beginning to come alive! It won’t be long and the leaves cover the trees and the spring flowers will start blooming…

Hidden Places To See In Paris- Rue Cremieux

If you are looking for a hidden gem in Paris, Rue Cremieux is it! Rue Cremieux is a quiet pedestrian street tucked away just off of bustling Rue de Lyon. This street is roughly a 15 minute walk from Bastille in the 12th Arrondisement. It’s easy to miss and only takes about 5 minutes to walk it’s whole length, but I classify it as one of my must sees in Paris. The colorful cottage facades, make Rue Cremieux a breath of fresh air from the neutral beige and gray architecture of the rest of the city…

Paris And The Seine River Video Snapshot

Paris offers so many picture opportunities, but it’s even better seen by video From time to time I look back at all my Paris photo’s from last year and remember all the things I saw.  If you are one of my Instagram followers (@lorilovesparis) you know that my feed is 90% Paris photo’s. Tuesday Travel Snapshot-Paris Love Locks

Love them or hate them- it seems Paris  cannot escape the infamous love locks.  Despite the city’s efforts to stop the tourists from professing their undying love for each other sealed with a lock, they  just keep showing up. Read about how they dismantled the 45 tons of locks from the Pont des Arts bridge in 2015 here. Not only did I spot them on various bridges, they seemed to show up at many places. No metal structure is immune! FYI: I did not partake in this crazy tradition How do you feel about the locks? Yes or…
