It was a perfect day for delivering mail today. After the gray, cool temps, and on and off rain of the last few days, it was a welcomed change to see the sun shining today. It made driving the mail route pleasant. Another thing I noticed was the color green beginning to add a bit of color to the brown and dull landscape. Yes, the grass is beginning to come alive! It won’t be long and the leaves cover the trees and the spring flowers will start blooming.
I am reminded of my first trip to Paris that was in the beginning of April in 2011. In my part of the world the landscape just was coming alive, while Paris was in full bloom. Monet’s Gardens were a burst of color. The flower shops of Paris were a photographers dream. I see the Instagram and Facebook photos of Paris today know that the colors of Spring here in Wisconsin are not far behind.
It can’t come soon enough for me. Not that the winter was real bad here weather-wise, I am just looking forward to open windows, the smell of blooming lilacs, and warm star filled nights.
