This cute little book Quotes For Writers was gifted to me from a dear friend. Inside it is full of quotes for writers broken off into different sections. I absolutely adore quotes for every aspect of life, but this little gem of a book resonates with me since I love to write and read.
Inside there is a section just of quotes about books. I loved them all, but since I love quotes I decided to share my favorite 5 with my readers. As a book nerd myself (and really what writer isn’t?), I highlighted them to go back to again and again. I hope you will enjoy them!
“Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested.” Francis Bacon
“I have somewhere seen it observed that we should make the same use of a book that the bee does of a flower; she steals sweets from it, but does not injure it.” Caleb C. Colton
“When I get a little money, I buy books; and if any is left, I buy food and clothes.” Erasmus
“People say that life is the thing, but I prefer reading.” Logan Pearsall Smith
“A book is like a garden carried in the pocket.” Arabian Proverb
